Description: Marianne de beaujard (The national personification of the French Republic) presented in profile looking off to the left. There are stars surrounded her head, evoking the flag of Europe.

The 0.87€ stamps is in violet. There were other denominations released in this series with each in a different color.

I sort of randomly grabbed a pretty stamp from my collection of postcards for today's post. But, what I love about researching stamps is when something seems insignificant turns out to be significant. This stamp is a part of the first definitive stamp series in France to have all its denominations issued as self-adhesive.
